Deathstroke just beat Batman so of course he gets his ass handed to him by some nobody mob hitman named Barker. Obviously it's because Deathstroke was so beat up by Batman or else everybody will have to believe that this idiot Barker can take the Batman himself! It's some kind of math law or something.
The worst part of this issue is that Wolfman has begun using Narration Boxes in Deathstroke's voice. So instead of having a chase scene where the art simply shows Deathstroke hitting the brakes while a motorcycle fails to brake behind him and flips over the car, Deathstroke has to narrate the action with "I was doing seventy, which left me no more than three seconds. I wasn't taking any chances. These sports models stop on a dime and give you nine cents change. But the brakes on the cycles aren't quite as efficient." I think Marv put those in less to explain about the braking capabilities of the vehicles and more because he loves to come up with bullshit turns of phrase like "stop on a dime and give you nine cents change." Although that sounds like the kind of thing maybe he picked up from his Amphetamine addicted uncle when Marv was a kid.
By the end of this issue, Deathstroke has allowed himself to be captured by the mob's man working inside the Gotham Police Department. I'm pretty sure Batman will be back to help Slade take down the bad guys. Also they'll probably fight for some reason. Like maybe Slade will be so fucked up from the experimental truth serum the bad guys are injecting into him in mass quantities, he'll think Batman is a real monster bat thing that needs to be battled.
